Professor George Albert Omore Magoha who has been an active member of Surgical Society of Kenya (S.S.K) and also one of the Pioneers of S.S.K, was crowned as the first Fellow Member of the society. This was done during the 17th Annual Scientific Conference. Congratulations Professor we are proud to be associated with you!!
During the 17th AGM, the Surgical Society of Kenya Members elected a new Council into office. The council will be led by President Peter Nthumba, Vice-President David Gome . Other officials elected were: Dr Daniel Ojuka as Secretary, Dr Karen Mbaabu as Deputy Secretary, Dr Andrew Ndonga as Treasurer, Dr Mathenge Ndihui, Dr Daniel Alushula, Dr Andrew Wandera, Dr Elizabeth Mwachiro, Dr Russell White as the country COSECSA representative, and Dr James Waweru as the residents representative.
The 17th Annual Scientific Conference and A.G.M held in Kisumu at Acacia Premier Hotel on 5th – 7th April 2017 was a great success. The society was able to host Surgeons from all parts of the country. Each county had a representation of between two to five Surgeons. To the society it is indeed a success baring in mind that the conference came in immediately after the doctors strike had been called off.
We therefore appreciate our members who made it for the conference, our partners who came to showcase their products making our Conference an enjoyable event and most importantly the board members who sacrificed their time in planning for this event.
