Can masks protect against COVID-19?

The Ministry of Health has suggested that healthcare workers may use masks when interacting with patients. If you do use a mask, try to extend its life as long as possible.

It is important to understand that we can limit the spread of the COVID-19 by washing our hands, avoiding unnecessary contact such as shaking hands, covering our cough or sneeze, and by practicing social distancing. Masks are not known to be an effective strategy at prevention of respiratory virus spread though they have not been studied for this specific virus. So do what is known to be effective – wash your hands.
